Rep. Lucy McBath Honors Vietnam War Veterans During 50th Commemoration Pinning Ceremony

Yesterday, Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06) honored 24 veterans of the Vietnam War and 3 families of deceased Vietnam veterans from Georgia's Sixth Congressional District in a 50th Commemoration Pinning Ceremony. Those recognized during the ceremony served in the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. A recording of the event is available here. This was the fourth 50th Commemoration Pinning Ceremony McBath has held for veterans of the Vietnam War since taking office in 2019. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is observed on March 29th.

"I was honored to spend this day with so many Vietnam veterans and their family members," McBath said. "These ceremonies are a reminder of the debt of gratitude we owe to these veterans and the obligation my colleagues and I have to ensure that the federal government serves the needs of our veterans and their families."

Participating veterans were honored with a commemorative lapel pin and a certificate of special recognition. In order to safely convene a virtual gathering, McBath's office mailed pins and certificates to all participating veterans ahead of Tuesday's ceremony. Lieutenant Colonel Norman Zoller, Esq., retired United States Army, participated as a guest speaker.

Established in 2008, the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration honors veterans of the Vietnam War for their heroic service and pays tribute to their selfless contributions.
